Successful Graffiti Removal Program by the Gold Coast City Council

At the GCCC Safer Suburbs Forum in February, the triennial review of their graffiti program was outlined.  There has been a leveling out of the amount of graffiti reported to Council – around 7 000 incidents annually, at a cost approximating $1.0m.  Thanks are due to all NHW members who report such vandalism to the Council, either by phone or by the Report a Problem app. and also to those who volunteer to help with the clean up.

Planning is well under way for our training and information day on 20th May, at the Carrara Community Centre.  Speakers are currently being arranged, and it promises to be a great day.   Morning tea and lunch will be provided.  This is an opportunity to meet with other NHW personnel, gain new insights into running your local program and develop new ideas.  Please register with our secretary, Jean Greatbanks, on 5500 5705.
